With just the slightest touch of self-inflicted hype, the new 2Advanced site was launched tonight as part of their Never Rain party.
So .... the question is: "did it stimulate my inner emotions & awaken me to the possibilities for the future"? Well, I did feel my stomach rumbling and my head throbbing when I first saw it - but that might just be the aftermath of the martinis we had in Vancouver last night.
Just kidding, of course - it is very nicely done.
986 days old - Jul. 17, 2003 at 1:022Advanced Studios and Bacardi DJ present: Never Rain - according to the website it's an event to celebrate the unveiling of the new & 4th version of the 2Advanced website, "that strives to be a destination that will stimulate inner emotions and awake visitors to the possibilities of the future."
Ehmm ... I realize that I'll probably get into trouble for this, but, come on, we're talking about a website here. I'm sure that it'll be a most lovely browsing experience once it's finally launched (I've always had a tonne of respect for the 2Advanced crew), but claiming that it'll be a "momentous experience forever ingrained into the memories of our creative peers, enthusiastic fans and supportive friends" might be stretching it a little.
Kinda reminds me of the time when everybody suddenly started called themselves "digital artists" - I thought that was a bit silly too.
So please ... take a deep breath and repeat after me: I am a webdesigner.
