ok, that was the worst thing ever. there was a line of hundreds of people waiting to go it but couldn't because they oversold the event and the fire marshal had to kick everyone out.

no one was allowed to go in anymore. the people on line had their names taken and given a bracelet that gave them "priority" for tomorrow's show. when the person next to the guy with the megaphone said what does that mean, he stopped for awhile and didn't answer. my friend yelled at him "it's not the fire marshal's fault, it's your fault for overselling the event" his voice cracked and kept saying stuff.

so they were taking names for the bracelets and giving out refunds. so i overheard these guys giving their names and then they asked how they'd get their money. the girl taking names said it's all in the system and they'd sent out the refunds. the guy walked away and said out loud, hey i used cash to buy the tickets. but when he went up to her again, she told him to get in line before he said anything. si i don't think they're really going to get people their refunds.

this didn't end there. we decided to go to midtown comics (big comic book store in nyc) and there was a line there as well. because people from out of town needed to get their fix for comic books somehow. it was so full that they had to make a line outside. plus people at the convention sent people over to midtown for refunds if they bought it there.

at least i got to make friends with lots of sad and disappointed comic book fans and otaku's.
