Not so, adam. Unless you are redefining Atheism. Actually, atheism makes the very absolute claim that there is no God. And it does this on purely philosophical grounds. Thus, it's a philosophical/theological assertion, just like Theism.
The burder of proof also lies with the Atheist to disprove the existance of a designer. Which is a tall order in light of the apparent design we see all around us.
