yes. shot to death. the photos were taken by a relief unit that happened to be traveling down that road and came upon this scene.
as on of the armed guards got off the truck to handle the situation the photos were taken.
the dogs were killed because they are obvoiusly vicious animals. the thought was what happens after the bull is dead and the dogs have moved on? would they attack a person if the person is alone? so they had no choice but to put them down. they said the dogs had collars and looked like they were trained to fight. they were dangerous to anyone caught outside with them.
they had to be destroyed. it's a damn shame.
i believe it was on msnbc.com's picture gallery a few days ago. they had audio to go along with the sequence of photos.
the bull had only minor injuries so it was left alone.
