Has anyone mentioned the fact that they could have organized Cruise Ships to pick up people and get them out via docks. Let them live on it or transport them to a dry camp. Tax deductible for corporate entities, etc., etc.
If the US Government can use imminent domain for land, why can't they do it in case of emergencies like this. Like GIVE US YOUR SHIPS and we'll compensate you.
BTW, I just thought of something. Generally, they use outside cities for sites for tent camps and rescue centers. Nola is a basin, can't do it there. Outside of Nola is still just as bashed up. Biloxi, Mississipp got messed up as well as Mobile, Alabama.
