let's go back to the number one thing here for the 50th time.
In a disaster, it's the State's requirement to handle these situations (calling National Guard, etc., etc.), regardless of cash-strapped FEMA. That's why it's taking this long for the Feds to get involved. The US is large, it's not a European state where things are concentrated. And considering it's overall land mass, it's pretty damn organized if you ask me.
Next time you see a third world country going through this, you'll think differently. It's not all that easy to handle.
