Walkable cities..? Need advice!

    depends on where you want to live in boston. the surrounding neighborhoods have pretty decent prices for living. inside the city in places such as back bay, the fenway, etc prices can get a little higher. it all depends on what you are looking for.

    in terms of public transportation, the city is home to the first subway, so i guess boston has always been pretty accessible. the busses cover a lot of ground outside the city and you can pretty much get anywhere you want via the trains. also, boston has some of the lowest public transportation fares of all the cities in america. that said, the transportation shuts down at 1 so if you want to stay at a bar until 2 and get home, you're shit out luck.

    but, to answer your question directly, boston is a very walkable city.
