Whenever I select text to make it a H1 heading all the text changes to H1 heading but not the selected Text. Any reason why this happens?

I have a wrapper DIV inside that is head, side bar float left sidebar 2 float right, and a footer. For some reason the wrapper DIV is not showing the background colour.

Anyone have any ideas why, I am a bit stuck at the moment.

Coming Back - Web Design Dec 12, 08, 7:06 a.m.

So I have decided to come back to web design after a 5 year brake. I have been learning Div, and CSS layout at the moment, but for the first three days I just could not get my head around how Div work for layout, but after 2 weeks of playing around with different layout I think I am getting the hang of it.

I still have some question.

1: Am I right in thinking when you do the structure for the site, wrapper, head, side bar, and so on it best to use the * to zero all of the padding and margins, and then use margin to structure the element inside the div.

2: Am I right in thinking absolute positioning does not get used in layouts mush.

3: Do you have any tip to deal with internet explorer 6 which still seem to have a mind of it's own after all these years, you would have thought Microsoft would have sorted this crap browser out by now.

I went into an apple store today to have a play with some of the Mac Pros because I am thinking about upgrading to an Intel machine, and what do I find, that right, all of the Pro Hardware has been taken out of the store to make way for bloody Ipods, and Iphones. And this got me thinking, are Apple more interested in the general Consumer, and if so, how will this effect the Pro customers.

Div Tags - WHAT! Dec 5, 08, 12:39 p.m.

I am going back to web design with about a 6 year gap. I can remember allot from back then, and I started to use CCS with Table layouts.

But Div positioning is doing my head in. Float left, relative, absolute, clear float, WFT. Is it me, or did you think that Div tag are a bloody nightmare to deal with the first time you come across them. who in there right mind thought this is a great concept to layout a website. The layout seem so unpredictable at the moment compared to tables.

Crazy QuickTime Nov 28, 08, 10:32 a.m.

I seem to be having problems with QuickTime, if I hide a movie window and then bring it back to the desktop it will not let me use any of the function on the movie window. Also when I tab to get QuickTime the icon disappears. Has anyone here had problems with QuickTime plugins.

At the moment there is no icon in tab view, the dock icon is showing the app is closed, yet QuickTime is still fucking open. WTF I have repaired permission. What next.

Agencies WTF! Nov 21, 08, 4:03 a.m.

So an Agency phoned me up two days ago, they inform me about a position that has become available at a media company who deal with video production. It turns out they have allot of web design and marketing material coming in and need a graphic designer to help them expand, and there might be some basic video work on the side to put online.

I spend almost two days preparing my portfolio and dealing with the Agency and then today go to the interview which cost me nearly £30 in petrol only to be informed that the position is for a experienced video editor only, and someone that has allot of experience doing the job. WTF. No need for a graphic design at all. I have now found out that the Agency that phone me have no experience in the design field what so ever, and do not have a basic understanding of what a fucking Graphic Designer does. When I was at the Agency yesterday she insisted she had relevant experience in the creative industry, and even showed me some media companies who are on there books. Turn out it's all bullshit. I'm so fucking angry right now.

Would you say that The Killer are a religion band. I was watching them on BBC2, Later Show last week and was paying attention to there lyrics and it stuck me there is allot of association to religion in there songs. I might be wrong.

The real scary storeys are the real life ones. For me one of the most fucked up things in 2008 was the Greyhound Bus Beheading, I just do not understand how someone could do that to a another person, and how do you come to term with a situation like that as a passenger and witness to the massacre on that bus. Just fucked up?

Being a bit thick here. Could someone explane the me the Final Value Fees ebay are takling about. I have not sold anything on ebay for about 4 year, and I thought it was just a basic fix % of whatever the iterm went for.

But ebay now seem to have two % for a sale WTF.

Did anyone watch Motorway Cops on BBC1 last night, Fuck me what where them 2 Swedish women on. I could not believe what I was watching when one of them went under the Lorry, then the other one ran straight out onto the Motorway after the first one got run over. WTF.
