Do you still see yourself in the industry doing graphic design in your 50 & 60. The reason I ask is because I do not see many graphic designer older then 39+ working in are field, or for companies.

I suppose my real question is: Is graphic design a short time career.

Agencies WTF! Nov 21, 08, 4:03 a.m.

So an Agency phoned me up two days ago, they inform me about a position that has become available at a media company who deal with video production. It turns out they have allot of web design and marketing material coming in and need a graphic designer to help them expand, and there might be some basic video work on the side to put online.

I spend almost two days preparing my portfolio and dealing with the Agency and then today go to the interview which cost me nearly £30 in petrol only to be informed that the position is for a experienced video editor only, and someone that has allot of experience doing the job. WTF. No need for a graphic design at all. I have now found out that the Agency that phone me have no experience in the design field what so ever, and do not have a basic understanding of what a fucking Graphic Designer does. When I was at the Agency yesterday she insisted she had relevant experience in the creative industry, and even showed me some media companies who are on there books. Turn out it's all bullshit. I'm so fucking angry right now.

Google Earth & Strange Buildings Mar 3, 08, 6:41 a.m.

So it’s Saturday Morning I am chilling out with a hangover, with not mush going on I open up Google Earth and see what I can find. I start by looking around places where I live and come across this odd building in the middle of the woods. This place looks like some form of Surveillance building looking at all the masks and satellite dishes around the building. So this get me thinking, What is It, Why Is it there, I had to check it out.

And the mission begins, I get some screen grabs from Google Earth to help me find the building, and then jump in the car. I finely find a road which will lead me to the building, its just about the right size to let one car drive down it, and it goes deep into the woods, at this point I start thinking to myself, what the hell am I doing, this could go very wrong, I get too the end of the road and then stop. There are a lot of signs around informing me that this is Poverty Property, and keep out, There are sign saying Prosecutor will be find 25K if found on there property. The building has four massive pillions erected at four different points on the property, they must rise about 150ft in the air, and there are lot of radio, and what looks like surveillance equipment on the pillions, there are also signs informing people of CCTV cameras are in service around this area. At this point I start thinking to myself, time to get the hell out of here. Just as I start to turn the car around I hear this alarm go off, As you can imagine I did not want to hand around, or be asked question, so I drove off at speed, and got the hell out of there.

When I got home I did some fervor investigating on Google on my local area to find out what the building was, but I cannot find any information at all. So do we think that this building might be a top secret Government surveillance Building? And are they keeping any grey aliens in there?

I was just listing to the my local radio station today, the news reader said there was a build-up on the traffic on the Rochester bridge, something strange in the water.

I have know just received a phone call from my mum, it turns out that my Nan, has just committed suicide off the Rochester Bridge. Fuck.

Try and get to a TV, the Olympic Opening game are bloody amazing. There doing this open scroll at the moment with live painting on the scroll. Amazing to watch.

QuarkXPress Is Doing My Head In Mar 27, 08, 7:59 a.m.

I have just got this 6 month contract to work for a college in my local area and they are using QuarkXPress 6. So I open up QuarkXPres for the first time in 6 years and It's just so out of fucking date when it comes to the user interface for an application, it fills like I have gone back 10 years.

Can someone tell me how I turn my font to a simple Out line, and what with Style Sheet in QuarkXPress if you can call it that, more like style HIT or Miss. Nightmare is what happening to me right now. I Just forgot how crap QuarkXPress is to Indesign?

Div Tags - WHAT! Dec 5, 08, 12:39 p.m.

I am going back to web design with about a 6 year gap. I can remember allot from back then, and I started to use CCS with Table layouts.

But Div positioning is doing my head in. Float left, relative, absolute, clear float, WFT. Is it me, or did you think that Div tag are a bloody nightmare to deal with the first time you come across them. who in there right mind thought this is a great concept to layout a website. The layout seem so unpredictable at the moment compared to tables.

I went into an apple store today to have a play with some of the Mac Pros because I am thinking about upgrading to an Intel machine, and what do I find, that right, all of the Pro Hardware has been taken out of the store to make way for bloody Ipods, and Iphones. And this got me thinking, are Apple more interested in the general Consumer, and if so, how will this effect the Pro customers.

Indesign CS3 has just disappeared from my desktop, but the application is still running, every time I Tab over to indesign it will not show up, I have also tried the application icon but the fucker will not come back to the desktop, WTF, aaaararrrarrarrar. I have not saved my work, fuck it.

So I buy this Pizza Express Pizza tonight, and I am just about to open the pizza when I see a live FLY running around inside the packaging of the pizza, I then thought it might be a good idea to take some video footage of the fly inside the Pizza.

My Question to you is, what do I do with the video footage?
