How to get something manufactured Sep 10, 08, 1:53 p.m.

Hey, so, long story short, I have been shopping for a super basic point and shoot digital camera. Something to have in my pocket to snap photos while I am out and about. In looking around, I realized that there is a real hole in the market for very basic cameras. This got me thinking "How hard is it to get a digital camera manufactured?" I was thinking it might be an interesting adventure to design a digital camera, get some company to manufacture it, and maybe set up a little site to sell these things.
Does anyone have experience, or know how to get in contact with electronics manufacturers? Someone that would operate on the scale I am talking about? Just thought I would ask.

Photoshop Actions Question Aug 7, 08, 2:52 p.m.

Ok, I am creating a droplet. There is a spot in my photoshop action that always opens the same file. What I am wondering is, can I make the path to that file relative to the droplet? I assume I have to manually edit the file to tell it to be a relative path? currently it is giving me an absolute path, and I want to be able to send this file to someone else, and an absolute path wont work on their computer. Any ideas?

I responded to your most recent post, but thought I might start a topic on the subject also. Why do you insist on posting only links to your blog? You are trying to harvest traffic by making me go to your blog in order to get to whatever you posted a link about. It is deceptive, and you do it all the time. Just link directly to whatever you want to share. The Public Choice is not an aggregator for your blog posts. Is it just me that finds this annoying?

I know they have free versions of these 2 things, but you only get the swf. I want an fla so I can tweak it. The other thing is, I would buy these, but I dont know if they are going to work for what I want to use them for...so it would be a waste of 100 bucks. Any ideas?

I want to make sure I am getting my translation right of a phrase for a tattoo. I am having my first girl in a couple days, and I want to include some good ole latin in the piece. I went to one of those word translators, and I want to confirm that it is giving me the right translation. I know that sometimes it translates words independant of one another, and not as a phrase. In some cases a phrase is translated differently. So, that said, can anyone help me out?

Font Problem May 28, 08, 4:10 p.m.

So, I just converted a slew of Mac fonts to PC formats. Mostly Open Type. Now, when I activate the fonts and open photoshop, they arent grouped into a family. For example, with Gotham, it lists out Gotham Bold, Gotham Medium, Gotham Light, etc. Is there any way I can force photoshop to group them? Did I convert them incorrectly? What gives?

alright, wtf! my email has been hacked. It is a mediatemple server. Somehow some spammer fuck got access to my email. They send out thousands of spam messages from my email. I get hundreds of "mailer daemon" returns a day. I change my password and it keeps them out for like 2 days, and then they are back in. What the fuck could be the problem?
