Trying to find an awesome typography book for my buddy's birthday.

Could use some suggestions from people who know more about the field than I do. Looking for something that would appeal to someone with advanced knowledge and creates his own hand drawn type.

Anyone else with an Apple cinema display (prev gen) notice an out of control burn in time? If I leave something on screen for not even 15 minutes it leaves behind a faint image. I thought projects were haunting me.

So someone uploads a video of people riding bikes, skate boarding, jumping off the roof, what have you and they put a music track in their video. A video which is obviously not of professional quality by any means... and then this happens.

SVG in a browser seems pretty cool and all but one thing I can't figure out is what would you use it for? The demo video was neat but it just seemed like flash on a very small scale.

I am currently working on a web page for chapter of NORML which is a group that is fighting to reform marijuana laws. Is this something I should refrain from putting into a portfolio? I don't know what the general feeling would be towards something like this. I don't know how touchy people will get. It's not like I'm making a statement saying "I do drugs all over the place" but I don't know how that sort of thing would be viewed. My personal portfolio isn't really something that clients see, its more something I send to potential internships.

Interview Dress Code Aug 24, 05, 6:02 p.m.

I'm going for an interview friday in New York City and another one Monday in Philadelphia. Both jobs are interactive web design focusing on coding HTML and Actionscripting. I need to know what the appropriate dress would be for the interviews.

The company in New York I have been talking too since January so conversations between me and them have taken a sort of turn for the informal.

The company in Philadelphia I was just asked to contact today and within 20 minutes they had me scheduled for an interview monday morning.

I'm not really sure what I should wear to either of them. A suit seems like it would be a bit formal to me but I'm not sure how relaxed I should go. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

adobe cs2 save for web Feb 22, 06, 4:05 p.m.

I'm trying to save for web in Photoshop CS2 however I get the error msg: "could not complete the export command because of a program error"

Not sure why this is happening, I get it every time I go to save for web.

I'm not accessing a networked resource so I know that's not it. I guess I can just save as > jpeg for now but save for web does such a better job. Anyone help?

Is there any way to select multiple objects and apply a material to the whole bunch? I created a modle of this column and truss set up these engineers made up for this building in NYC and there is no way I want to spend time dragging and dropping materials on hundreds of objects. 3dsMax is being a slut about letting me attach them all together to make it 1 object so idk what to do.
