Usually in June we get...oh...350mm or something - it's a pretty rainy month. On Saturday that mush fell in an hour. Landslides, Mudslipdes, waterfalls down stairs and roads...the airport closed. Shit was pretty fucked up my end of town - flooding everywhere. This photo pretty much sums it up!

Been here 3 weeks now. Interviewed at big and small, International and local places. met some cool people doing great work, and some arseholes doing absolute shite.

The state of both traditioanl and interactive design in Hong Kong seems to be improving - more so for interactive. A lot of companies seem to be going for quantity over quality - and it shows.

But there are a select few places in town who know what they are doing and know how to approach the local market with their level of experience.

All too often here it's 'need a website, for as little as possible, next week.' Of course, that could be said of any country in the world. But so many places here seem to accommodate that attitude without trying to educate their clients, or analyze how their brand can be successfully used in the interactive arena.

I didn't just want to come here and get 'a job'. I wanted to work for a group of like-minded individuals, who cared about what they were doing, inspired each other, and weren't afraid to rock the boat.

After several meetings I finally accepted an offer at a mid-sized home-grown agency in town, and will be starting soon as their New Media Director (but not too soon cos I just got some new golf clubs and the weather is quite nice at the moment...).

So yay! I'm really looking forward to this. It's going to be a challenge - I know it - and I'm feeling so driven and so inspired right now, and I know this is the right job for me!
