Warrior Monks of the Shaolin Temple

Over the past eight years, photographer Justin Guariglia has slowly but surely won the trust of the notoriously secretive warrior monks of the Shaolin Temple, a unique Chinese Buddhist sect dedicated to preserving a form of kung fu referred to as the “vehicle of Zen.” With the blessing of the main abbot, Shi Yong Xin, Guariglia has earned the full collaboration of the monks to create an astonishing, empathic record of the Shaolin art forms and the individuals who consider themselves the keepers of these traditions.

Knowledge For Thirst

The Knowledge For Thirst is two gentlemen giving each other updates on what they’ve been drinking recently.

Joshua Allen eats things only so he can get thirsty. Kevin Fanning’s palate is so sensitive he can differentiate between 1% and 1.5% real fruit juice.

Colorado Ghost Towns

In September of 2006 I had the opportunity to search out and find a handful of the hundreds of old Mining and Ghost Towns that are scattered around Colorado's Rocky Mountains. These are a selection of the 200 photos I took over the 5 days of 4x4 driving and hiking.

Sen. Ted Stevens on The Internet

"I just the other day got, an internet was sent by my staff at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday and I just got it yesterday. Why?

Because it got tangled up with all these things going on the internet commercially.

So you want to talk about the consumer? Let's talk about you and me. We use this internet to communicate and we aren't using it for commercial purposes."

Go Skateboarding Day

On June 21 skateboarders around the globe will celebrate the pure exhilaration, creativity, and spirit of one of the most influential activities in the world by blowing off all other obligations to go skateboarding!

Skateboarders everywhere will hold fundraisers, contests, protests, demo’s, they’ll skate across cities, gather in skateparks, stream into their local skate shop and some will even revel in the solitary act of skateboarding alone, all bringing together the skateboarding community in the grind heard around the world.
