MANILA (AFP) - Eight Muslim rebels and three soldiers were killed in the latest outbreak of fighting in the troubled southern Philippines, a military official said Thursday.

Guerrillas of the separatist Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) fired on an army patrol in Datu Piang town in the island of Mindanao on Wednesday, killing the three soldiers and wounding 12, said local army commander Colonel Marlou Salazar.

Military reinforcements backed by armoured vehicles arrived later, prompting the rebels to flee using civilians as cover, he added.

The bodies of eight rebels were recovered from the scene, the colonel added.

The military earlier said it expected fighting with the MILF to increase following the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan on Wednesday.

The military says its operations are against two MILF leaders, Umbra Kato and Abdurahman Macapaar, who are accused of leading deadly raids against mostly Christian towns on Mindanao island in early August that left dozens dead and displaced half a million people.

The government has been holding peace talks with the 12,000-member MILF but the violence flared after the Supreme Court on August 4 struck down a draft agreement which would have given the MILF control of large swathes of land in the Mindanao region.

Having issues with my css layout, page should look like this:

but instead it looks like this, where the footer collapses upwards and covers the other divtags.

It seems to work ok in ie 6, where the background section expands down with the content and the footer is always under the other sections.

what's the best way to synch an external mp3 file to a flash movie. It's a 4 minute voiceover that needs to sync with the graphics.

I tried embedding it into the timeline, changing the sync sound option to stream, and it seems to work pretty well, but i want to avoid embedding in the timeline.

Called Cuil, from the Gaelic for knowledge and hazel, its founders claim it does a better and more comprehensive job of indexing information online.
The technology it uses to index the web can understand the context surrounding each page and the concepts driving search requests, say the founders.
But analysts believe the new search engine, like many others, will struggle to match and defeat Google.
