Englishman in LA Jun 2, 08, 10:35 a.m.
Been in LA for a few days now. Mainly been out buying new things, phones etc and servicing my laydee. Now I'm on to the unpacking phase.
The cats have moved from hissing and claws to exploring. Which is faster than i expected, but means the house separator can come down.
Apart from waking up at 6am every morning it's all good. I'm rocking the weather and the food.
And to that kid that SCREAMED at me the whole 11 hours of the flight over, i forgive you. Your mother however can burn in the fiery pits of hell!
So any must read threads that I've missed?
The OGC Logo Apr 22, 08, 9:58 a.m.
Did anyone see this on the Register today?
http://www.theregister.co.uk/200…
I didn't get it to begin with, it's quite subtly done :D
For those who can't be arsed to read:
--------------------------------…
"In April last year, London design outfit FHD proudly announced it would be rebranding the UK's Office of Government Commerce (OGC) - the HM Treasury tentacle "responsible for improving value for money by driving up standards and capability in procurement"
"According to an inside source, the graphic had allegedly already been inscribed onto mousemats and pens in anticipation of its imminent deployment, but it took OGC foot soldiers around 20 seconds to realise why this particular bit of joss-stick-driven madness was going to end in tears (of laughter):"
2 month notice given! Mar 25, 08, 8:16 a.m.
Gave my 2 months notice today.
Plans are under way for me to join the g/f in Cali.
Face hurts from smiling.
Yay!
Apple poster print thing... Feb 14, 08, 2:33 a.m.
So someone at work just put up a Microsoft loving poster and I feel the love must be proportionally represented. I'd forgive him his misguided ways if only I could find an Apple poster/ad for download I can print and stick-up. Google is being unusually unhelpful.
Anyone got any apple love things I can print?
FFXIII now on 360 Jul 15, 08, 9:07 a.m.
http://arstechnica.com/journals/…
"Though no release date was announced, and the Xbox 360 version was confirmed only for North America and Europe, Wata noted that the game would launch simultaneously for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3."
Now the only reason to buy a PS3 is the Blueray. If only PS3's were $200 cheaper ><
Site check please! Apr 22, 08, 8:54 a.m.
Hey peoples,
So i'm updating my portfolio. Initially i was using this new version to teach myself PEAR, GD2 and jQuery, so i'd really like the functionality tested to make sure i haven't noobed anything.
Along with that i'd like to hear thoughts on the new design and layout.
You can get to the test site at:
http://www.yaypaul.com/index.php…
Thank you!
P
P.S. I am aware of a few issues in IE6 and i'll get round to fixing them when i can be arsed.
Why do you mock me time! Apr 18, 08, 8:36 a.m.
As time gets closer to the booze hour, the minutes slow to a horrifying crawl.
Where's Lu-Tze when you need him ><
Virgin Media - At it again. Mar 31, 08, 6:58 a.m.
http://www.theregister.co.uk/200…
"Virgin Media could soon become the second major ISP to attempt to implement a "three strikes" system against illegal filesharers in partnership with the record industry."
My question, and it's an important one, is;
If i am using P2P but NOT downloading music will i still get a strike?
All hail the shaper of content for he has come!
Crazy Dutch Advert Feb 7, 08, 4:34 a.m.

LA ISP's looking for recommendations plix Apr 4, 08, 5:18 a.m.
So in a little over a month I move to LA and I’m going to need a new ISP. The missus currently uses SBC, but it costs a load and is only 1mb.
I'm currently on 20mb, but that's cable, so normal phone of about 5mb would be cool too. However I’m looking for recommendations, below is my criteria:
- They're not AT&T or Comcast in anyway
- They don't content shape or block
- They have nothing to do with Phorm
- They're not insanely expensive (i.e. a business provider)
Like a say if I can get cable great, if not DSL is fine. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks.
P.S. Oh links if you got em too pls!
Slider check please Jan 17, 08, 3:48 a.m.
Hi people,
I've had reports of the sliders not working properly on my new portfolio, apparently both Safari on Mac and IE7 Win are having problems with the sliders resetting when you let them go. However I’ve checked them in Safari on Tiger and IE7 XP but can't replicate the problem.
So I was wondering if some of you could have a look and see if it's working for you.
Many thanks,
P
