btw neue75, my comments are more directed towards nostradamus, not you. saying "it's too busy for me" (which i almost agree with) is much different than calling his work medicore, student-like, and playing "what ifs..." with things like "imagine if he had real client..."
- it's all good, my comments don't actually belong in this thread as they have little to do with the thread subject itself..neue75_bold

I'm all with people giving honest feedback work or no but the angry negativity is unwarranted.
The site might not be perfect but it has an interesting nav concept that I've never seen implemented in exactly this way. How many people even bother trying to come up with something new or different when presenting their work? More likely they just copied what other designers and agencies were doing.
Gotham Narrow is an amazing new font? Oh man I gotta get it.
Single page vertical scrolling portfolio? Yes!
No? Side scrolling portfolio with text in a box? Well alright then *updates site*As far as the style of the actual work, it's not my personal favorite, but it's obviously well-implemented and I'm sure there are people who would like to hire someone to produce work in this style.

could you imagine if IAAH was handed a real project for a real client? Helping a charity, or rebranding a local business? You know, a project with accountabilty?
He'd fucking fail miserably.
The only meat and potatoes, realistic project in the portfolio is the Mazda website. And it was headed and directed by a real firm (Sarkissian Mason), IAAH just did illustrations again.
Some of you need to consider what contributions you are making to this world outside of a *.PSD.

you really are some kind of ironic, douchebaggy troll nostradamus.
a real client; did you even look through his work? it includes some ace work across a variety of mediums, and he even has some excellent pieces for the obama campaign and various charitable causes towards relief efforts in NOLA.
he's one of the most—if not the most—creative people i've worked with. go leave your troll droppings in another thread.

"where is your portfoli?"

I like the fact that you're forced to interact with the work. Didn't find the interface too awkward... a nice simple idea -> [1] author one large image per page .. [2] get user to pan around it with their mouse like it's a zoomed-in photoshop / illustrator image.
It's a shame there's no cue that the navigation has changed once you get to the 'store' section. I found that confusing. Even just a divider entry in the pull-down, might have helped.
I think risk and narrative are two things which are often missing from a lot of sites, and this one tries to address that.

I guess I'm less drawn to any individual work and just the coherence that he brought to the whole project in terms of the presentation of work etc. It's always great to see someone tie it all together like that even if the overall "style" is not your personal favorite, ya know?

Always a favorite, love the new site even more.

agreed. great site, incredible work.
i like the contrast between this thread and the cargo debate yesterday. there, some were bemoaning the lack of originality in a cargo (or indexhibit or whatever) portfolio. now, folks are upset that someone has done something interesting and different. you can't win.

the site is awesome, redefines the perception of space. type work is aces!
