This has been a lot of fun and is really working for my marketing on Facebook and Instagram! I sold three prints in one week and have a bunch of interest so far! I've only shown a total of 10 images and I'm still finding freebie mockups.
I also booked an engagement and a wedding!

My inspiration for this way of marketing was looking at this guy's website. I kept finding myself going back to see how gorgeous the prints looked. (i live on the coast and appreciate coastal design.)
I thought, wait a minute, he didn't actually pose all these framed pictures, I bet he placed the shots in the frames with photoshop. So I asked QBN and Utopian hooked me up.

So yeah basically I have like 700 friends and family on FB and they have all been seeing me post my photos for the last 5 years. I never thought I was good enough to sell prints but after some feedback I said fuck it. I started a Facebook photography page. I sent an invite to everyone of my friends and have about 300 of them "like" the page. I assume the rest ignored the request or just didn't like it, or just forgot. This keeps my regular page separate and I can talk strictly about photography and design on the Photo Page.
I'll be posting a reminder like this to try to get the rest of my friends to like the page:

This is what my FB posts consist of. First shot is a high-res image of the sharpened photo. 2048px on the long end (that is optimum for FB I believe) and second shot is the mockup.
I am posting one per day only. Keeps people engaged on the page and keeps the click-thrus coming to my site daily.

Right after I post on FB I post on Insta.
I don't think I will get a lot of conversions from insta, but it's good to have it. I have worked out a collab for professional framing from someone who found me there though.

I'm trying to not spend any money on PSD mockups but I am running out of freebies. My problem is most mockups are vertical and most of my photos are landscape/horizontal.
I also wish there was more frames with matting.

Physical frame or the mock up? Shouldn't be too hard to create matting on the mock up. No?

Hey Hijo, do you do the printing as well?
I signed up to society 6 a while ago to sell some drone stuff, i like that you dont have to handle the print and ship side but it is so over populated.
Going to be launching a cheap stock footage thing soon and may add print to the mix but was thinking of just selling the digital version so peeps can print themselves. Think thats an option?
- I send files to local pro print shop then pick them up. She sells me a tube for a buck. Then I ship them myself.HijoDMaite
- I pay for the option that needs no editing or cropping so it's cheap. If I show up and it looks too dark she will reprint for me in the spot.HijoDMaite
