Haha.. I was actually kinda hesitant to post because I don't think the position is all that lucrative. You would be working directly with a bunch of software developers + engineers who tend to abuse designers.
Also, after talking with the VP of the group it became clear they are not seeking so much a UI/UX person but more a strict UI designer - specifically someone to develop + design iconography/pictograms for their software. We have a few icon designers floating around between the various subsidiaries and my impression is that they're basically 'Hands' for the developers/engineers who cant use the tools (ie: I need an icon/ui element, here's the idea I have, now execute).
And that might sound harsher than the job actually is - I like working here and a lot of the people are super cool. We're a pretty large technology company in Southeast Michigan with good pay and benefits. I'm pretty sure they're looking for someone to work onsite, but that may be negotiable.
