A web page is pretty immersive. You experience them 'zoomed in' and in high detail. A lot of that quality is lost when you reduce the page to a single image for print or thumbnail size
A collection of shots, showing zoomed out flats for context and cropped in details for finish and feel seems to work well. The 'photo of a website on a screen' technique sometimes works to show detail/vibe when the source imagery is low resolution.
