business has always been part of the problem but the situation is shifting.
as for tobacco. yes our understanding of issue evolve and I hope they continue to do so. It is interesting that many of tghe climate deniers funded by oil companies to spread lies are the same ones funded by big tobacco.
but the tobacco thing brings up an important point. We know with certainty that smoking kills. Even though it damages their health and the health of those around them people continue to smoke. Even though the solution is simple - stop smoking - people can't. Issues like climate change are far more complex and require more radical changes. I don't think the government or business is ain a positon to drive the social change required......
p.s. the poor countries are the ones that are suffering and will continue to suffer.
