  call 1800 4 MY XBOX
  provide them with a serial number and they will provide you with instructions on how to send the xbox back to them for repair/replacement

  if you've had it modded..make sure that the sticker on the front is intact

  when you send it to them, disconnect the hard drive and if you have had it modded, you will need to re-mod it
