Haha, guilty as charged. I know I'm definitely not the first person to shoot their work in this way.
I must say though, I really don't think Madethought were the first people to do this. Going all the way back to design school, I was always taught that work looks best on a neutral background (I think white and black can sometimes work better than gray—depends on what's being shot) that sets the work off without creating distractions. Also, it's a simple way to show the work in an uncluttered environment.
Do you have a better solution forcetwelve?
