http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/2…"Clancy confronts her readers with some compelling data. Child molesters have victimized approximately 45 million Americans (p. 1). Child molesters cost victims and their families $23 billion annually (p. 111)."
1 out of 6 americans have been victimized by child molesters, what the hell is going on over there?
I'll tell you what. The pedophile hysteria and fight against pedophilia has become a billion dollar industry, ie. this figure ($23 billion) is the direct income for people, who explain to the "patients" that he/she has been victimized and is now terribly traumatized.
Of course, the main reason the victims are traumatized are not the crimes of the pedophiles, but the subsequent crimes of the doctors, depression counselors, therapists and life coaches.
Which cost the victims 23 billion dollars annually. The more harmful, destructive and immoral a certain thing is, the more money the americans will make from it. An absolute empiric rule from which man knows no exceptions.
Reminds me of a funny marketing anecdote, when after the WWII Americans came to Japan to sell antidepressant drugs, they discovered that there was no word for depression in japanese. In the japanese concepts of Godai feeling sad was seen as a moment of contemplation of life, it didn't have the negative connotations it has today.
So the whole concept needed to be invented and marketed under that new idea. Successfully, antidepressants are a growing multibillion industry in Japan, hehe.I think that if America doesn't get nuked by some small oppressed country, and there are dozens which are investing all their money in nuclear weapons to rid the Earth of the cancerous tumor that is America, America will die from sinking in its own shit. And the sooner, the better, btw
