Specifically in your resume or portfolio site, do you refer to yourself as "he/she" or "I"? In other words, first or third person?

Definatly 'I', more personal. I think "he or she" makes your ego too big, especially when writing about yourself.

Example:
... Thor then graduated from the Florida State in 2001 and went on to be hired at xyz agency in Miami. There Thor learned the real ins and outs of agency life...

First person. Third person would seem weird.
"MARTIN REDMOND did this MARTIN REDMOND did that."

the royal we
- That's one of my pet peeves. You see these design "studios" run by a single person who then writes "we"jkmohr
- Sometimes 'we' is good business strategy.. It was 'we at Car Design News' when the site was just me in my pyjamas...ribit
- The advertisers thought 'we' had a big office and employees and stuff.ribit
- But my friends just joked about my 'imaginary friends'...ribit
- plus it saved all that copy re-writing when we finally were multiple people...ribit

I, always.
Unless I clone myself.

Use your QBN name and reference specific threads where you learned a thing or two about design. Might I suggest using "The Official NSFW" thread for starters.

On a sidenote, this reminds me the not-so-long-ago era of freelancers masquerading as full blown studios and referring to themselves in third person, talking about all kinds of people that work with them, when it was really just them.

I don't say 'he' or 'I', I say 'ME', like a caveman, and I miss out words of only two letters or less.
And always use the present tense.
