  I know there was an old thread that was somewhat informative about equipment etc... But I never can find anything on the Filter... Any help please?

  I actually got into design when I was like 15 because my best friend was a DJ and I would collect the fliers. I downloaded Photoshop and started messing around, eventually people at clubs started asking me to do work...

  I've been working corporate/going to school/paying bills for such a long while that I forgot how much I was into electronica and synthesizers...

  That's funny. Kind of how I got into design in the first place too. One of the first school projects I ever created was a book (12in. square inside of a record sleeve) on how to spin.

  My friend has Geminis and Tech 1600s... All vinyl... But I see a lot of potential in CDS, because of their platform and the programs that I hear are out there.

  Realizing that if you go for vinyl, you are looking at at least a grand and a half for 2 Technics 1200s and a decent mixer...and that's before vinyl, which is expensive, speakers, etc. It's an expesnive hobby.

  vinyl and cd are very different experiences. when i first started, cd decks didn't exist and i learned on vinyl. it's a very visual thing, you can see a track, where the breaks and changes are, and how long is left. when i moved to cds i was kind of lost for a bit, because you don't have that visual element. it's harder to chat up girls and down lots of drinks because you have to pay attention. when i switched again to the lappy, i got back some of that visual-ness. in short, i'm not really a fan of cds.
