i read about this years ago. the uk has never allowed fluoride into water supplies but the savings in treatment were so great i think they've recently just added it coz they think its good for you teeth and bones. Without really thinking its probably really bad for other things we can even understand yet...

Never really thought that ingesting it was such a hot idea. Always seemed counter-intuitive.

It kills the good bacteria in the intestinal tract and is considered one of the causes of the increase of colon cancer and allergies.

Fluoridation is the only reason I pollute the world with plastic bottles as I buy bottled water.

    • You can get home filtration system. Of course there's rain water and grain alcohol too.Mimio1/2
I don't own the place where I live to justify the price. I will get that eventually..rafalski2/2

it's a health benefit to put it in public water. waaaay safer than if it wasn't in there. plus it has dental hygienic qualities.

    • we got a scientist here!Milan1/2
how is water way safer with it? none of thee articles claim that. And they wont. All they'll say is its good for teeth.v3nt2/2

Portland, Oregon is one of the only major US cities that does not add fluoride to our drinking supply.

well, fluoride is the least of our worries here in Southern Nevada. We've got drugs floating around in our water that can't be filtered out. I know it's not just here, it's most likely in every metropolitan water source

I saw a Portland local news story where they told people to flush all their old meds down the toilet for safety reasons.

The next night they had to retract that because the EPA called them and said that would contaminate the water supply.

    i heard about that too.

hormone affecting drugs especially are soluble or removable. I saw this nice project at the RCA show where someone took detailed samples of water from different areas.

As water is used and recycled locally(ie hackney gets water recycled from hackney waterworks) these insolubles build up. in some areas' water anti depression drugs traces are found, in others its the Pill or hrt traces(bad news for blokes!). all pretty scary.

Minutely infinitesimally, unmeasurably small quantities of all drugs in the water supply.
Kinda disproves homeopathy, doesnt it ?
If homeopathy was true, then noone would get any disease as all the cures for all diseases are in the water all around us.

Apparently people with tattoos who have used fluoride are in deep trouble.

Also note that the author of the article is Jonathan JENKINS, possibly a relative of Jamal.
