  Hi guys

  Just been briefed on a project for Japan for a product launch site. Can't tell you the product, soz!

  Does anybody have any cool insights (links), cultural or whatever on the day-to-day Japanese way of life.

  The product will be aimed at adults as opposed to the youth market.

  Just looking for that spark of inspiration but I don't now much about Japan or the current culture... other than the obvious technology, small homes, etc.

  Any help would be great!

  Japanese are typically modest, humble and proud. Their day-to-day is made up of motions towards respect, kindness and considerateness.

  TV adverts are only ever watched by housewives as they tend only to be at home with spare time on their hands.

  They love coffee, social drinking and quirky things.

  one of my mates was over in japan teaching english.
  he reckoned that a lot of them were very racist towards him in day to day life and almost considered a second class citizen.
  definitely not the sort of way i'd thought the japanese would be.

  Keep in mind most Japanese interaction with the internet is via cel phones - so you better have a mobile component to your project. Also check out Japanese social sites like Mixi, etc.

  i very much want to get to Tokyo by the end of '08 beginning of '09. stay out there for a minute, teach english, freelance design, get our music in stores and rock mad shows.., oh and eat lots of japanese food yum ^A^
