  got the new mac keyboard today, and i must say that the fn key is a pain in the ass esp for flash or other programs that use the f keys as shortcuts. I know I can change my shortcut preferences but it's a bit of a hassle.

  don't change your shortcuts. go into system preferences/keyboard and mouse/keyboard/select "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys".

  then, when you want to hit F12 to pop the widgets you hit fn-f12.
