heh.
I don't have anything to back up my opinion, but I'd say they were both inspired by something else - have you seen the Woodstock movie? Maybe that? They're both riffing the 60s 'set up a party in the countryside' and that being the case, there's only really one song choice.
Still, similarities aside, there's enough novelty in the Waitrose one to let them off the RIP hook.
