Does anyone use fireworks for designing sites? i've been a photoshop whore for a while, but i've been playing around with fireworks, and it does seem to have some advantages... - It seems to be up in the air if they are discontinuing it or not though.

I prefer using Fireworks for screen layouts. The frames feature allows you to layout multiple pages in a single document and the symbol feature is very useful. I also think its cool that you can create a symbol (like a repeating header or icon), and if you change the symbol it populates across all of your page layouts. I still use Phototshop for more complex photography image manipulation

yeah, that was one of the features i likedmeatball2/4
photoshop does all that. 'layer comps' and 'smart objects'cuke4263/4

I prefer fireworks for layout work because it's designed as a layout tool so its faster for me at least. You can also work with vectors more easily .

I don't do a lot of html sites or heavy production, so I would never leave Photoshop for another.

FW is more than enough for most of web work.
Big advantage: simple, precise vector editing.
Disadvantage: fonts anti-alias is not as perfect as in PS.

    • also texturing effects..MrDinky1/3
      = anti-aliasing.Corvo2/3
