Prior Vs. Chappelle 99 Responses

So has Dave Chappelle ever just come out and said "I owe half my act to Richard Prior?"
I'm listening to some really old Prior stand-up right now and it's uncanny just how much Chappelle emulates him. When Prior switches voices to be a white guy or a smart guy or something, seriously, fast forward to modern times and it could have been the same person.

Haha, okay, it's "Pryor" and have you ever noticed that every single black comedian has the same voice for white people? That's the running joke.
When I do impressions of black people, I like to use that same voice. Because it's a funny voice especially with the connotation.

I prefer Tracy Morgan, myself.

When I do impressions of my friends, or whatever I use that weird high pitched nasally voice.
It's also in the round of impressions I do that aren't really impressions at all, Mike Tyson is one of them and in that voice I just go, "I will stomp on your children's testicles. If Jesus were alive I would fight him too kind sir."
