  Using Mac.
  Ok, so I tried to load in this layout setting I had saved. Clicked on some "User Setting" that i figured was it, and then *Zonk!*, all the top level drop down menus are gone. Bye bye.
  There's "File," but all you can see is Quit. Wtf? I've restarted the app, the computer, everything.
  Little help please?
  Do i need to do some massive setting restoration by diving into my Library folder??

  do you mean all you see is 'Cinema 4D' and 'window' on the top menu bar?

  No, ovsm. It's the menu with File, Edit, etc...

  There's a bloody layout tool right above the "Make Object Editable" tool.
