  Our website got pirated.

  It's actually our old website:

  Here's their site:
  http://www.mbprogress.com

  We don't care since it's our old design but they kept our tracking code and meta tags. We sent them a letter to at least take the meta tags and tracking code off so it doens't mess our stats and now we find that they changed their homepage with our slider: www.activewebgroup.com

  yup it did unless your site was a template. They look similar enough. I think its not worth chasing after though a template look and feel it's not your logo and will you make a profit from going after them?

  it's not from a template. i made them from scratch. and they are definitely only copying from our website only. they don't even know how to load their own logo. the tracking code file still has our company name: "activewebgroup.js"

  does having your site pirated mean 'you've arrived as a designer'?
  maybe someday, if i ever have time to rebuild my portfolio, i'll be pirated.

  that totally blows that they've ripped your site -- judging from their business website creativity, their work is probably awesome.

  I can sort of understand why people rip sites that are damn good. What i don't get is why a creative company, of any level, would ever consider it.

  - buy it
  - make a site dedicated to how they ripped u off with links to your old site

  infact get a .tk cos their free and if they try to sue they cant cos u just host the site on shitty freewebs under fake details

  are they sourcing the images for backgrounds/gradients from your old site? if so , replace some images for porn images of the same filename :)
