Over 4 months in the making...Might not seem like much, but for 2 people, this site was a massive undertaking.
A site for luxury watch enthusiast.
# User registration
# Wish Lists
# Smart Searching
# client side managment of everything
# Dynamic Image adjustment
# Live currency feeds
# Dynamic content retrieval from client sites
The list goes on...- May 5, 08, 5:56 p.m. – Permalink

Good job, Kappa - the functionality and information layout is impressive, though the colour scheme and header graphic/logo really doesn't broadcast prestigious, expensive watches - it's kind of the opposite. Also, I think your Search Results layout page could do with just a touch more space, to allow each watch to stand out a little better.
Beyond the cheap-looking graphics, my main concern would be that there is no information there to substantiate who you are - if I'm even thinking about slapping down quite a few Ks on a watch, I want to be impressed by your credentials up front.
I don't want to come across all negative - I like the way it's built and find the UI pretty darned good - I just think the graphics are shit.

Just a quick friendly brain dump and I'm going to bed.
As an Australian art director once said to me, "this homepage doesn't look very homepagey"..
Where are the feature boxes? Why is currency chooser so prominent?Logo/colour scheme are nice, but would rather suit sport watches.
Luxury watches are just watches, with the 'added value' of a bullshit story that renders them luxurious. This page doesn't tell such story, doesn't encourage to spend on a watch more than it is worth. Which is $15-30 for any decently made watch.
Everyone has a clock in their mobile phone now. Watches are useless then. They're nothing but jewelry.
Where's da bling?

(I have avoided this thread so far, because I thought it was about bowel motion).
I like the site – nice and clean, but i have to say the colours reminded me a bit of DIGG. Otherwise, great work on a huge job.

The original design was darker, more moody, more serious, but the client, wanted it lighter, appealing, not too corporate looking. Seeing as watch enthusiast are getting younger and younger. 30 something dudes with a disposable income.
Appreciate all the feedback...K

My client doesn't actually sell any watches, he merely provides a service to watch dealer around the world to list their watches.
If your a private seller and have a watch you can list it free of charge, he's looking at the dealers. Here's some of the most respected brands in watches websites.
www.panerai.com
www.rolex.com
www.iwc.com
www.patek.com
www.breitling.comI feel most of these are just plain stuffy and boring except for the Breitling site.
