Plus, he's not alone, somebody put him in there. The next general election results depend greatly on his performance. His colleagues will have an eye on him for sure as these are their future jobs on the line.
There is the risk that they will want him to humiliate himself ie. with a set of overexposed blunders, only so he doesn't grow strong enough to ever threaten Cameron's position. But that's just a loose far fetched thought now.
Let's see what happens. Even if the worst case scenarios are in use, at least they will be entertaining :D
