In the red corner, a small design company based in Sheffield - Phorm Design.
In the dark olive corner, miscreant spyware bastards of the moment, Phorm.

I like the olive logo better

I think the olive one looks really half arsed, I must admit - I'm not saying the red one's a majestic triumph of design, but at least it's cohesive and makes sense as a logo form. The other one's like something an undergraduate would come up with when let loose with a Font of the Day.

Do you think they're close enough to call a 'rip'? Or do you think it doesn't matter? (I'm not sure I do)
- detritusI think they are similar, no question about that.
But I've seen dozens of logo's in this style, with simple 'selfmade' lettering, and they all look alike!
This happens to be the same name, for two companies that both do computer related stuff. But they are not targeting the same audience for the same work. So I don't think either Phorm is missing out on business because of the other.I like the dark olive wordmark better because it seems to have been thought out better. The 'belly' of the 'p' is not a perfect circle, but reveals some basic knowledge of typography. The cuts on both the 'p' and 'o' are not 90degrees. Which gives it more of the 'movement' e-pill mentioned.
all in all, is this a rip? If it is, I think it's an improvement. Does it really matter and should they go to court over this? No.
