this was brought up before in another 'student looking for crack' thread...or he was trying to sell his version or something. anyway the conclusion was, since i brought it up, was that software companies love file sharing because it create a large base of knowlesable and experienced users and subsequently a large amount of potential customers. someone mentioned they talked to someone at adobe about it and he said they could make it impossible but it that's how adobe got such a stronge foothold in the market, it's not something they'd talk about in public because it's 'send the wrong message'. same reasons why the riaa and big music labels won't admit music sahring simulates the market and gives them excellent statistical info on what people are listening to. i don't personally consider that much of a taboo or big deal because of this.
