Why is "old news" held in such contempt on internet messageboards? why are we so quick to invoke the timeline, and with such vehemence? Why is being the first to learn of second-hand occurences held in such high esteem, when it, too will be "old" in a few minutes? Has primacy in information receipt become our only currency?
