my company has two designers. i'm one of them. lately, they've been forcing in the other designer to get involved into all my projects. it's never the other way around though. i think they don't want me to work here anymore but they don't want to fire me. maybe i'm on NT too much or something. just venting here.

Start worrying when you co-worker starts dating your girlfriend, wearing your clothes and has your parents numbers on his mobile phone.

What OSFA said.
I think the same thing has been happening to me. There isn't enough work to be done to come in 5 times a week, but there is definitely important stuff that needs to get up on the website at least 2-3 times a week. I'm worried that this other, older woman may get my job since I had to train her and she's doing some of my projects, but then again the company would be dumb to let me go since I have more experience and work faster (which is another reason why it looks like I have no work to do sometimes). Also, my contract is up by the end of October. My boss mentioned that I would "probably" get to stay longer, but I have no idea at this point.
Look around for clues. You're probably right to speculate a bit, but don't worry too much yet.

Also, I get paid for much less than the older woman does b/c she's been working here longer and I'm just a student, so I don't understand why they don't just extend my contract (apparently they have lots of money left over to hire people). Maybe there's something else going on...
Anyway, back to you.

thanks, just ranting here....
never really understood that one... it's a lie, you want a response, otherwise why not just write it down on a piece of paper and throw it in the bin.
and by the way, i suspect it's because the other guy is better than you, cries less, and they do indeed want you out.

talk to your boss.
Jaline, it's not that I am an asshole, well, maybe a little, but people make you bad, and situations force you to be more self centered if you care about your future. Don't teach her everything you know, don't be a beyotch about it either, but show them that you are the girl! Nobody wants to train their replacement...
And when they realize she sucks, they'll keep you and even pay you more if you play your cards right.
