Anyone have a kick-ass job but are at the point of calling it quits because of one dickhead co-worker? I don't think I could work out my differences with this guy since I'm new and he's been here longer, but I'm very close to just grabbing his head and smashing it into his fucking monitor...
Thoughts..

I've only been here 5 weeks and I've tried ignoring his comments, I've tried being nice, but he's just one of those guys..., I dunno, this is the job I've wanted for like 3 years, but I've got an interview at another studio tonight so...I just don't know, I've never in my life had problems getting along with someone, he must also be a Leo...

I know how you feel. I worked with a jackass of a guy who got himself promoted to creative director on our largest client project.
He treated everyone like crap, me in particular. We all thought he had issues pertaining to baldness, height, women, etc. Anyway, I suffered for as long as he was with us and felt dumb cos' I didn't do anything about it.
You're in a difficult position as you're a newbie but is it worth risking unemployment at this stage? If so, get the hell out of there and get on with living a happier life.
If I could, I'd strangle all the assh0les out there in the design world, but then that'd be a full time job in it's own right.

I think he's very territorial when it comes to projects, I've had to execute some designs he's done and when I go over to show him what the creative directors have had me change, he just gives me the gas face and is like all upset at me because I've altered his designs...
The comments are just like small put-downs when I have an idea about a project, that we're supposed to be working on together, he'll say something about it not being a good idea and then just turn around.
He's the lead since he's been here longer, so I need him to make some decisions for me to proceed sometimes and he just won't. I think he wants me to look bad in front of the creative directors.
And people love him here, they think he's so funny. I think he is just a scared little man..

Friction is never good in the workplace, but healthy doses of it are good now and then.
How long have you been at the company? Maybe he'll mellow out a bit more.
I was a bit nervous about the new girl who started with us last year, but we're getting along fine now.
Have you been out to the pub with him or is he repulsive to you in a social environment. If he's a real dick then you're better off leaving, but I'd give him some time to change his tune.

I think I will speak with him aside from the office. We haven't really had a drunk at the pub, but he seems like one of those really obnoxious drunks who likes the sound of his voice.
Thanks for your input, I'm just having on of those days today. Started off by getting pelted with a snowball this morning...Damn kids...

i would take other peoples comments and crits on borad and just egnoire his shitty remarks. Show that you can work just as well as him, people at work will notice this and resepct you then you can tell him to shut the fuck up when it comes to your ideas etc
don't let a shit like that push u out if it was an office full i would understand, but not just one guy!!!!

ugh snuggles that sucks.
If it were me I would bring it up with the CD. Any CD with a clue would want to know something like this was happening....if nothing happens or if he ignores you then you know its time to move on.
Life is too short to work with assholes.
