Anyone have experience with this? About to start designing a book for a family member. Neither of us have really worked in this realm before. Should I just do the layout in InDesign? Ideally this will be printed and sold, but we'll also probably want it available on Kindle/iPad. We're probably going to do this sans publisher...are Blurb or Lala or any of those sites any good?

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

I'm looking for a printer for an art book. It would be a limited edition, 50 to 100 books, the content would be mainly photography so the quality of the print is very important.
I already found these guys, www.meridianprinting.com and wonder if you know someone else. Something close to NYC would be ideal but it'd be all right if it's not.

apparently when you die your ebook and other programs you've worked so hard to buy, die with you.
You can give your e-reader or tablet to a friend but the apps and books are non transferable,

personally, I'll keep buying books because if there's one thing I want to leave to my son is a library full of books.

Anyone have any examples of a corporate brochure (think annual report like) done in a "Comic Book Style"?

Let's say I have an idea for a book about logo design. Along the lines of the Los Logos series, let's also say.

Whose permission do I need to include a particular logo? Assume it's trademarked and all that.

I figure it's either "everyone and their lawyers'" or "nobody because of some copyright law thing".

I have to design a book wrap, mailing box, and label, and I'm all out of ideas. The book design isn't much to look at, the budget is low, and timeframe short.
