Greetings and salutations! I am in a bit of a quagmire, I have downloaded various AVI files off the internet and wish to burn DVDs of them. When I do so using toast the Image quality is cool but I get a hissing sound along with the audio. Is there a more proper/better way to do this? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Don't bother converting it to another QT format. There used to be an app called VisualHub but it's no longer being developed. If you google it you'll get the Techspansion site which has a link to the new version being developed by someone else (it's called something different). This is what I always used.
Still, I've never had your problem in Toast so I wonder if it's your video or codec that's throwing up all over your sound.

yeah should be fine with Toast... never had audio problems. Double check your settings and/or files.
