your mac version of flash is too old.

.fla on mac and pc should work with no problems.
check the extension and make sure its .fla
double check it in DOS as well (sometimes windows flakes on the ext.)

Try updating flash if you havent. The version you have at work might be 7.# while yours is 7.0. If that doesn't work then resave the file at work as a normal mx file but you won't be able to use AS 2.0

why would you delete the extension? that could be the problem from the start. I cross platform flash all the time and never had a problem. In a Mac, make sure you save as n00b".fla" so it'll work in a PC. Adding any extension to a file in a PC will turn into it's associated program.

well ofcourse you can't open an .fla file then.
anyways, maybe i misunderstood you but flash mx on a mac can't open flash pro 2004 fla files.
