Have any of you worked at brand new startups and been offered equity income? Was the $ you were making in terms of hourly or fixed fee payments equivalent to a salary you'd want, or less because of the equity portion? Any watch-outs in this situation?
- Tons of watch outsnb
- There are ways that you can lose out on the equity. The safe bet is to think of it as a lucky windfall if it all works out. Don’t count on itnb
- I know people who’ve gotten somewhat rich from joining the right startup, but it was always luck. It can happen. It’s not entirely rare.nb
- But I know people who’ve been staying at the same terrible job for many years hoping to cash in if the owners sell. Ruined their career, in a waynb
- And I’ve read about people getting screwed (legally) out of their equity when the startup IPOed or got acquired.nb
- Thanks. I’m not banking on this opportunity working out, but something came up out of nowhere today.mg33
- I wouldn’t do anything without a lawyer being involved on my side.mg33

Yesterday morning a middle-aged midget lady lost control of her car going around a corner, crashed and took out a small tree in our front garden on the way to hitting the fence.

- Phone or not, they’re wiping an ass. Maybe don’t eat anyone’s cooking anywhere if you can’t handle this.monospaced
- Many people wash their hands with soap after shitting. Nobody washes their phone.nb
- then nb you shouldn't go eat at a restaurant or anyone's house. or touch your face. you face has more bacteria than toilet seats.pango
- you don't have to pee and poop all over your phone, ya know?NBQ00
- You don’t need your phone to shit, either. Why y’all defending thisnb
- i'm not. i'm just expending the logic. :)pango

Pathetic shape. Yesterday I did a short bike ride, with a strong headwind... barely 20km over the 60km I had planned...
I've to go back to the roller again, this is embarrassing, LOL.

In the past two weeks, I’ve taught one friend how to start a fire and another friend how to mow her lawn. What are these dads out here doing?
- making babiespango
- https://i.pinimg.com…PonyBoy
- My father worked very late and on Sundays he spent riding his bike and resting... Almost everything I know I learned from other friendsOBBTKN
- I don’t mow my own lawn lol.monospaced
- I’m always shocked at how many people don’t know anything about fire. I camped a ton as a kid so it’s natural to me, but my dad never didmonospaced
- ^ Seriously. It's the first thing you learn in Cub Scouts. It's so easy and somehow there's a lot of people out there that can't figure it out.garbage
- 1. Start with a lighter.Nairn
- This. It's good to know how to make a fire from scratch. It's also smarter to always have a BIC or DJEEP in your pocket.garbage
- i have about 30 lighters... you guys want some?pango
- Lighter is useless if you don’t know how to build a fire. Ive seen ignorant fools fail making fire, and they had plenty of lighters. Even wood ffs.monospaced
- Obviously? But building a proper stack and building from tender is easy. The lighter and presoaked wool in that Altoid can are your best friend.garbage
- Who wants to make a hand drill after hiking 20 miles into nowhere and the sun is falling?garbage
- Yeah nobody said that. Survival fire starting techniques not relevant.monospaced
- Who was talking about survivalism? I was talking about hiking, not bushcraft lol. Please lose your weird hate boner for me.garbage
- You go out of your way to be wrong about things I say. Boomer things, I guess.garbage
- so.... any takers on those lighters?pango
- https://upload.wikim…Nairn
- lol. she used a lighter, but knew how to stack the primer, kindling, and wood to feed itself. her girlfriends were so surprised no lighter fluid was needed!?imbecile
- you’re talking about fire starters like those are part of building a fire ... this isn’t Boy Scouts, and I’m not a boomer you petulant child.monospaced
- I’m younger than you think, and maybe that bothers you because I’m so much farther in life, and more successful? Not sure.monospaced
- Nothing about you bothers me, except for your foam-mouth rubbish clogging up my feed. I have never tried to trigger you, but god damn you have a hard-on for me.garbage
- Let it go sweetheart, you don't interest me.garbage

https://www.etsy.com…utopian - +1 and you'll probably like this anecdote. When I was a kid, I had to do the whole science fair thing. It was straight up "Do Plants Hear Music?"garbage
- I had two Calendulas, one had a radio playing 24/7. The other had identical situations. I picked annual flowers for a reason. The non-radio one died.garbage
- Radio Calendula? Kept on kicking. I got a fucking D+ for presumed low-effort.garbage

People don’t like to be corrected, and I understand.
But when they call Descartes “Dess car Tess” and Spotify “Spoo Dee fai” a whole evening, can you at least punch them in the face a friendly way?
- The use of a comma in your first sentence is often considered 'lazy' by some writers.
Perhaps smooth out your statement with a less broken-up sentence:PonyBoy - "I understand that people may not appreciate being corrected."PonyBoy

I just read an article about famous manuscripts, with scanned texts, and... I was amazed by the cursive writing in Russian, do a quick Google search, incredible, repeated curves and no apparent meaning.
