Getting massive memory leak gpu fan freakout when opening chrome. Continues once it's closed and all processes ended. It's often an issue but this is literally intolerable, both for me and my ageing machine.
Anyone else experiencing the same? I'd ditch it for Firefox but I'm quite tied in to drive / docs etc.

For what it's worth:
I [begrudgingly] use Drive/Docs for some things and I'm on Firefox.

The chrome help forums are just full of angry nerds shouting at somnambulant google devs in terms I don't understand.
For anyone interested, Chrome beta seems to be a reasonable short-term fix. You can run it instead of or as well as regular chrome, and sync bookmarks and prefs.

Firefox for 99.9% of things, if something requires Chrome: open Chrome to do the task, then quit Chrome.

Some alternatives that I just can't dedicate myself to:
Brave: https://brave.com/
Firefox: https://www.mozilla.org/en-CA/fi…
Min: https://minbrowser.github.io/min…
Opera: https://www.opera.com/
Safari: https://www.apple.com/ca/safari/…
Vivaldi: https://vivaldi.com/Anyone had any luck with the above (surprised Firefox has the popularity above) or any others to add to the list?

I have a question and need your help, please.
When I visit youp*rn.com and click the Google Chrome Menu (3 dots), there is a new entry below "Search" saying "Install Youp*rn". What the fuck is this? Of course, I did not click on it, but I am concerned.
Even more concerned, because I don't find anything regarding this with Google.
You had your Sunday laugh at me now, please do me a favour in return and tell me what this is. Thank you!
- you can setup specific sites as default search engines, and youpron is one of these.sted
- I better visit only in incognito mode. The entry appears with youtube music as well.SimonFFM
- that button installs youporn as default search engine for the browser search barsted
- type in: chrome://extensions/
and if you see anything related to that just hit remove.sted - and THANK YOU, sted!SimonFFM
- running no extensions, but it appeared in the search engines. thank you!SimonFFM
