So my cheap braun coffee machine finally shit the bed and after staying at some European Airbnbs for travel I'm looking at expresso machines. What are you guys running? I'm assuming there are some strong opinions out there since espresso machines are an industrial design target, so let's have 'em.
I'm looking for: simplicity, reliability, charm, nontoxic materials (no plastic), and manual use (not interested in touchscreen shit).

I just go at a specialty coffee shop and get a couldbrew tonic dude
- Who tf buys coffee machines at homegrafician
- People who A) don’t live next to a coffee shop B) work from home and C) don’t want to pay $18 for a cappuccino_niko
- I guess a lot of people living in the woods then
In any city I go I have a few specialty coffee shops around, this is how you judge level of civilization lolgrafician - Except Italy, most specialty coffee shops are out of town, they are espresso savagesgrafician
- like this gem in Bucharest, highest level of civilization in eastern bloc rankings: https://pbs.twimg.co…_niko
- Wtf is that lolgrafician
- You can find good specialty coffee places from Berlin to Thessaloniki travel more ;)grafician
- I enjoy both making it at home and going to a coffee shop. They are different experiences.Chimp
- But I can see how some prefer to go to a coffee shop and avoid the hassle.Chimp
- Lots of people who have homes have espresso machines. You seem confused.monospaced
- exactly... more like who has not an espresso machine.... that would be mental... a small or huge one ... its standard living.neverscared
- No need to mock me. But a lot of people in homes in suburbs have them for conveniencemonospaced
- Yeah but guys, to have espresso machine in home also means you have electricity_niko
- Grafician can't make espresso at home, probably because it will ignite the layer of hay on his kitchen floorYakuZoku
- who tf drinks cold brew “tonic” ?monospaced
- You’re not even remotely close to the topic of the thread but you couldn’t help make an irrelevant post with a side of condescension. 4am losermonospaced
- It's a cultural thing you moron, a lot of people in Europe actually go out and have fun.
Meeting for coffee is important around here.grafician - so YOU seem confused @monospaced!
While you stay in your cardboard homes making yourself coffee boasting about your coffee machinesgrafician - You can't even make coffee at your own house? Do you know how to cook? Or do you eat out all the time? Also are you retarded?WallaWalla
- I’m not confused. I’m in my solid brick 150 year old house and I have an espresso machine. Espresso isn’t even in cold brew loser.monospaced
- If you’re implying that I don’t meet people because I have coffee at home then you are seriously reaching.monospaced

I posted this before, but this thing is great:

I swear by my Aeropress. Cheap, fast, fantastic coffee, easy to clean, travels well. My first one lasted about 10 years, immediately bought a new one after I dropped it. It's not exactly espresso though, kinda a mix between French press and espresso.
