Adobe Fresco

they recently made it free because no-one really uses it, while the paint engine is good (esp. the watercolour system) in typical Adobe stylings the UI is half-assed and perfunctory and really not fit for professional-purpose - but as something for kids to lark about with, it's ideal.

Just go with photoshop - yes it's complex but kids learn really quickly and this gives them a leg up. My younger son uses it for school flyers now.
- How old is he? Since I posted this 2 months ago, my daughter's getting the hang of using the ui with mouse & keyboard, so perhaps this maybe a better pathNairn

Have you tried Sketchbook? Not very complicated:

Any suggestions for drawing software for a ~6 year old? Windows, mouse-based.
MS paint is fun at the moment but there are fairly immediate points of frustration. It's obviously quite limited. PS and Krita are a bit too complex.
Also, any other software recommendations for a kid that age too, if they come to mind.
Thanks!
