I use Glyphs, I bought the pro one because I wanted to make variable fonts. You should be fine starting on the mini version, then if you need a feature, upgrade.
Robofont is the other pro one, a little more expensive but also seems good.- Robofont looks hipster approved / super minimal / cool!ideaist
