Is it still a renter's market?
- meaning, in favor of the person paying rent?cannonball1978
- that window has closed. now people who can't get into a house right away are going back to the renters market with tons of cash in the bank.shellie
- people often offer up the whole years rent to outbid.shellie
- i think the market will do some tilting in the months to come based on the eviction moratoriums.colin_s

Highland park is nice. I live in Echo Park and there are sometimes things but the nice stuff goes fast. You could go San Fernando Valley and no one would tut tut you but it seem slike it can be it' sown social bubble.

Thanks all, going to look for agents and also drive around looking for amateur signs.

I highly suggest getting a real estate agent to help you. It won't cost you anything. The agent makes their commission from whatever management company or agent is leasing.
My agent took my list if needs, got my paperwork together including credit reports and booked walk troughs for me. She found me my last house and my current apartment. I can't imagine searching for a rental any other way now.

Glassell Park is a small neighborhood near Mount Washington and Highland Park that I love and is worth checking out
I just moved to Glendale just east of the 5 freeway from Los Feliz. I hit balls at Griffith Park driving range a stone's throw away.
I was able to get into a new building for a killer price in Glendale during in June 2020. I had a checklist of things I needed to downsize from a house to an apartment in a post pandemic world and one thing was gated parking, fob access only to elevators, and hallways that were open air and not enclosed, centrail air/heat, dishwasher, washer dryer in unit, and some amenities whenever they opened for use. I wanted a two bedroom and two bathroom that also allowed dogs which narrowed my choices on the east side with all listed above. I basically searched from Pasadena to Studio City. it was a bonus that it had never been lived in before and a 10 minute drive from my previous residence in Glassell Park.
- Here I am ambulating through enclosed hallways like a sucker ;)futurefood
- I’ve been living in the foothills of Burbank for past 8 years and used an agent to find this placefuturefood
- agent makes your life so much easier. of the market is hot its a great way to have an edge over othersshellie

Apparently Facebook Marketplace now lists Rentals... who knew? good luck with your search.

You may also need to consider getting an Airbnb while you looks around or if the price is lower than a full rental, stay with Airbnb indefinitely
- that's now how it worksmonospaced
- That's how it works in Europe. Unless you have kids...grafician

the best way to find low-priced apartments in any city is to drive/bike around the neighborhood you want to be in and look for hand-written 'For Rent' signs.
anything professionally managed by a company is going to be at market rate or higher. individually owned properties are more likely to be underpriced, and they don't always list them online.

Rented out at least a dozen times this way.
You can also go around and put stickers "I want to rent here, call me"grafician - That wouldn’t work in nycmonospaced
- ^ Wouldn't rent in NYC without at least a company reg in the Caymans or something.
Same in London.grafician - what the fuck are you talking about?monospaced

- Don't the signs just relate to ads?bainbridge
