Does anyone use a wifi-only tablet as their phone? My parents have zero interest in a smartphone, but they do want to do video chats, etc. They also don't have any interest in smart things (like Facebook's video thing).
I thought an iPad mini would be good, but never tried using a wifi-only device for more than a call or two.
iPad mini only for video calls? Buy them a cheap Android tablet for this, and you're done.
Sure they have got "dumb" phones for voice calls...
iPad is a no-brainer for wifi only FaceTime - vid or voice. Easy set-up - just help them put the contact list together. I set my mom up with one so my kids can video chat with her
- I assume they have a land-line for 911 and regular voice callsGnash
- I wouldn’t use it as the sole form of contactGnash
- Yeah, they do, and flip phones, which they love (us 'kids' can't bug them with texts, etc.), no one else uses Apple, thoughformed
- We are all Mac so not sure about issues cross-platformGnash
